The Goal
Since 2019, ADHD Teen Tips has been a big part of my advocacy journey. Focused on educating teenagers and their parents, ADHD Teen Tips is determined to write articles on important subjects, in an easy to understand manner.
Recent statistics following a meta-analysis of 29 studies by Dr. Nicole Rancine and others, there was an estimation of 20.5% of clinically elevated anxiety in youth and children. In simpler terms, the global estimates of child and youth anxiety symptoms have doubled, upon observation, during the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The need to educate people in mental health issues has only increased in these past years, following the global mental health crisis. ADHD Teen Tips writes about relevant information to help teens and adults understand their diagnosis.
The Journey
As a young girl, I always wanted to make a difference, and being ‘normal’ was not appealing to me. At first, I wanted to help people, by making them laugh. To this day, making someone smile, is still something I try to do. I strongly believe that laughter is the best medicine.
A common theme in my life, has been my desire to help people. I’ve been an active volunteer in lifeguarding, retirement homes, a local mental health program, and much more. As time went on, I realized that I want to be a resource. I wanted to write articles from the perspective of someone like me, so that other teens could feel less alone.
With diagnosis in anxiety disorders, ADHD and depression, I struggled during and before COVID-19. I started looking for resources, but when nothing came up, I decided that I would be the one to start doing the research.
I wanted to make a difference, and that’s how we reached today.
